Chevening Scholarship Programme

Chevening is the flagship scholarship scheme of the British Government. The Chevening scholarship programme in Burma (Myanmar), funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, offers the opportunity for talented Burmese professionals from across the country to pursue postgraduate studies in the UK. The programme aims to encourage potential leaders and influential figures of the future to develop personally and academically and to bring benefits to Burma on their return.

The British Embassy is now accepting application for the 2012/13 Chevening scholarship programme. All applications must be submitted on-line through E-Chevening by 17 February 2012. Further details about Chevening scholarships and the application process can be read here.


The first ELT conference for teachers in Mandalay

We’re excited to announce that the first ever conference for teachers of English working in and around Mandalay will be held on 11 and 12 February 2012 at the Mandalay Hill Resort. This important ELT event builds on the success of the annual British Council and ELTeCs conference in Yangon.

Teachers working in the north of the country and other outlying regions have repeatedly asked for a similar event to be held closer to home and we are delighted that we can now respond to their feedback. This two day event will attract over 100 participants will feature a key note address and over twenty parallel workshops. Find out more
