Cambridge ESOL CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Course at British Council Myanmar

The Cambridge ESOL CELTA course is offered in over 200 centres worldwide. The CELTA is internationally regarded as one of the most prestigious teacher training awards in teaching English to adult learners.

Participants will be trained by two approved tutors with experience of teaching and training in Asia, Australia, Europe and the Middle East in both the commercial and voluntary sectors. This broad range of experience is reflected in the person-centred training during the course and the on-going support given in finding the right job on course completion.

The CELTA course is very intensive and concentrates on the practical rather than the theoretical so that trainees will graduate with the skills required, enabling them to go into their first teaching post. They will learn about best practice in English language teaching (ELT) by using up-to-date teaching methods. The course will focus on quality in teaching by tailoring the CELTA syllabus to the group’s needs.

You can read about The Cambridge ESOL CELTA course here and can contact david.valente@mm.britishcouncil.org for an application pack and for further information. Thank you!

The course may be high to undertake it for me I think but I'm very interested in it. How should I prepare in advance for being tested for my awarness and competency in English before the course? Please advise me. I'll thank you.

More over, is it week-end course or week-day course ?

When i attended that course at B.C , i will have to attend three days on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. But for Video lessons and Teaching practice , u will have to do on the other days. It is a beneficial course for Eng teachers. join it without fail.

great news for esl/efl teachers.

It's so good! We hope to see more new things such as CAE and CPE exams

If we want to take those tests we have to wait to have at least 10 candidates!

It's not good!

I'd like to join that CELTA course but course fee is a little bit high for those who stay in Myanmar!

Hi Ma Mya Sandi Tun!

TKT is about Teaching Knowledge! But,for CELTA, It is about Teaching to Adult specifically!

Could anybody please tell me what Cambridge ESOL entry fee is?

Is CELTA fee that high because of that?

And I think we are seeing a very welcomed initiative after a new course manager's come! (programme Manager? I am not sure, but I heard there was a recent vacancy),, Thanks,,,

Dear Kaung Hla Zan,

Thank you for the feedback. Should you require further information, please do feel free to contact  david.valente@mm.britishcouncil.org
