Impact Evaluation

A practical course to design and manage high quality impact evaluations

Why this course?

Today, development assistance places great emphasis on demonstrating impact. Having a logical framework with impact indicators is a first step to design projects with impact in mind. The next step is measuring that impact in a robust manner with mix of quantitative and qualitative methods. This course will show what impact measurement methods are available, and how to plan and budget for impact assessments

Course objectives

By the end of this course, you will:

  • Understand the difference between a regular evaluation and an Impact Evaluation, and its link to a Theory of Change
  • Know how to select effective strategies for determining causal attribution of your programme impact
  • Have an overview of available tools and platforms and learn how to select the right mix of methods
  • Be able to design a rigorous Impact Evaluation and frame its key evaluation questions
  • Be able to analyse, present and defend robust impact evaluation findings, including contribution analysis and sense making

What our clients say

“A great course that focuses on both the quantitative and qualitative methods for impact evaluation, thereby providing tools for both high and low budget evaluations.”
