အသံုးဝင္ေသာ အဂၤလိပ္စကားအသံုးအႏႈန္းမ်ား (Lost/Talk/Tell/That/Up)

Get lost! ((ေ၀းေ၀း)သြားစမ္းကြာ!)


You say get lost! when you tell someone rudely to go away:

(get lost ((ေ၀းေ၀း)သြားစမ္းကြာ ကို တစ္ေယာက္ေယာက္အား သင့္အနားကေန ေ၀းေ၀းသြားေစလိုတဲ့အခါ ေျပာသည့္ မယဥ္ေက်းေသာ အသံုးအႏႈန္းျဖစ္သည္။)

 

  • Get lost! Can't you see I'm busy?
    (ေ၀းေ၀းသြားစမ္း
    ကြာ ငါအလုပ္မ်ားေနတာ မျမင္ဘူးလား။)
  • Get lost? I'm trying to work!
    (ေ၀းေ၀းသြားစမ္း။ ငါအလုပ္လုပ္ဖို႔ ၾကိဳးစားေနတယ္။)


Look who's talking!  (မင္းကပဲ ေျပာရတယ္ရွိေသး!)


You say look who's talking! when you tell someone that they are criticizing someone for doing something that they do themselves:
(လူတစ္ဦးတစ္ေယာက္က ကိုယ္ကိုယ္တိုင္လုပ္တတ္တဲ့ အျပဳအမူမ်ိဳးႏွင့္ ပါတ္သက္ျပီး တစ္ျခားသူ တစ္ဦးဦးကို အျပစ္တင္ ေ၀ဖန္တဲ့အခါ ထိုသူအား look who's talking! (မင္းကပဲေျပာရတယ္ရွိေသး!) ဆိုျပီး ေျပာတဲ့ အသံုးအႏႈန္းပင္ျဖစ္သည္။)

 

  • 'Joe shared my room last night and he kept me awake all night by snoring.'
    (ညက ဂ်ိဳး (Joe) ကြ်န္ေတာ့အခန္းမွာ လာအိပ္တယ္။ သူ႔ေဟာက္သံေၾကာင့္ ကြ်န္ေတာ္ တစ္ညလံုးအိပ္လို႔မရဘူးဗ်ာ။)

    'Look who's talking! Everyone in the flat can hear you snoring every night.'

    (မင္းကပဲေျပာရတယ္ရွိေသး!
    ညတိုင္းမင္းေဟာက္သံကို တိုက္ခန္းမွာရွိတဲ့လူတိုင္း ၾကားေနရတယ္။)
  • 'Sara spends a huge amount of money on clothes.'
    (ဆာရာ (Sara) ဟာ အ၀တ္အစားနဲ႕ ပတ္သက္ျပီး ေငြပမာဏ အမ်ားၾကီး သံုးတယ္။)

    'Look who's talking!
    You buy something new to wear every week.'
    (မင္းကပဲေျပာရတယ္ရွိေသး! မင္းလည္း အပတ္တိုင္း အ၀တ္အစားအသစ္ကို ၀ယ္တာပဲေလ။)


I told you so (ငါေျပာသားပဲ)


You say I told you so when you had warned someone that something bad would happen and it did:

(တစ္ဥိးတစ္ေယာက္ကို မေကာင္းတဲ့ ကိစၥတစ္ခုခုျဖစ္လိမ့္မယ္လို႔ ကိုယ္ကသတိေပးထားျပီး ထိုကဲ့သို႔ သတိေပးထားသည့္ အတိုင္း ျဖစ္လာသည့္အခါတြင္ (I told you so) ငါေျပာသားပဲ လို႔ ေျပာေလ့ေျပာထ ရွိပါတယ္။)

 

  • 'The second-hand computer which I bought isn't very reliable.'
    (ငါ၀ယ္လာတဲ့ တစ္ပါတ္ရစ္ကြန္ပ်ဴတာက သိပ္စိတ္မခ်ရဘူး။)

    I told you so
    when you were buying it, but you wouldn't listen.'
    (မင္း၀ယ္ေနတုန္းက ငါေျပာသားပဲ။  ဒါေပမယ့္ မင္းမွ နားမေထာင္တာ။)

  • 'The heating system doesn't work properly.'
    (အပူေပးစနစ္က ေကာင္းေကာင္းအလုပ္မလုပ္ဘူး။)

    'I told you so
    when you rented the flat, but you wouldn't believe me.'
    (
    မင္းတိုက္ခန္းငွားတုန္း ငါေျပာသားပဲ။ ဒါေပမယ့္ မင္းငါ့ကို မယံုခဲ့ဘူး။)


The expression what did I tell you? has a similar meaning:

(What did I tell you? ဆိုတဲ့ အသံုးအႏႈန္းဟာလည္း တူညီတဲ့ အဓိပၸါယ္ရပါတယ္။)

 

  •  I offered Jim the job, but he didn't turn up for work.'
    (ကြ်န္ေတာ္ ဂ်င္(မ) (Jim) ကို အလုပ္ေပးခဲ့ေပမယ့္ သူဟာ အလုပ္လုပ္ဖို႕ ေရာက္မလာပါဘူး။)
    What did I tell you?
    Jim's lazy and unreliable.'
    ( မင္းကိုငါဘာေျပာခဲ့လဲ? ဂ်င္(မ) (Jim) က အပ်င္းထူျပီး စိတ္မခ်ရပါဘူး။)


And that's that! (ဒါပဲ!)


You say and that's that! when you have come to a decision which you will not change and do not want any more discussion about the subject:

(and that’s that (ဒါပဲ!) ကို မေျပာင္းလဲတဲ့ ဆံုးျဖတ္ခ်က္ခ်ျပီးေနာက္ အဲ့ဒီကိစၥႏွင့္ ပတ္သက္၍ ထပ္ၿပီးေဆြးေႏြးျခင္း မျပဳလိုတဲ့အခါ အသံုးျပဳပါတယ္။)

 

  • You're not having a teenage party here and that's that!
    (ဒီေနရာမွာ မင္းတို႔ ဆယ္ေက်ာ္သက္ေတြရဲ႕ ပါတီမလုပ္ရဘူး။ ဒါပဲ!)

  • I'm not lending you my car and that's that!
    (မင္းကို ငါ့ကားမငွားဘူး။ ဒါပဲ!)

 

You can also use and that's that! to mean that something has ended or finished:

(and that’s that (ဒါပဲ) တစ္စံုတစ္ရာ ျပီးေျမာက္ေၾကာင္း (သို႔) အဆံုးသတ္ေၾကာင္းေျပာရာတြင္လည္း သံုးႏုိင္သည္။)

We've both signed the divorce papers and that's that! Our marriage is over.

(ငါတုိ႔ႏွစ္ေယာက္လံုး ကြာရွင္းစာခ်ဳပ္မွာ လက္မွတ္ထိုးလိုက္တယ္။ ငါတုိ႔ အိမ္ေထာင္ေရးကအဆံုးသတ္သြားၿပီ။ ဒါပဲ!) 

 


I've had it up to here  (စိတ္ကုန္တယ္)


You say I've had it up to here with someone or something when you are very annoyed with them and do not want to have anything to do with them any more:

(စိတ္ကုန္တယ္ (I’ve had it up to here) ကို လူတစ္ေယာက္ေယာက္ (သို႔) အေၾကာင္းအရာတစ္ခုခုေၾကာင့္ စိတ္အေႏွာင့္ အယွက္ျဖစ္ျပီး ၎တုိ႔ႏွင့္ ေနာက္ေနာင္မပတ္သက္လိုတဲ့အခါမွာ ၎အသံုးအႏႈန္းကို သံုးပါတယ္။)

 

  • I've had it up to here with teenagers. I've decided to give up teaching.
    (ဆယ္ေက်ာက္သက္ေတြကို စိတ္ကုန္တယ္။ ငါစာသင္တာကို စြန္႕လႊတ္လိုက္ဖို႔ စိတ္ကူးလိုက္ျပီ။)

  • I've had it upto herewith this job. I'm going to resign.
    (ဒီအလုပ္ကို စိတ္ကုန္တယ္။ ငါအလုပ္က ထြက္ေတာ့မယ္။)
