အသံုးဝင္ေသာ အဂၤလိပ္စကားအသံုးအႏႈန္းမ်ား (call/crack/hand/mind/move)

 

That's what I call ...  (ဒါမ်ိဳးမွ …. လို႔ေခၚတာ)


You say that's what I call when you think that something is very good, as though it were a perfect example: 

(ဒါမ်ိဳးမွ….လို႔ေခၚတာ (that’s what I call..) ဆိုတဲ့ အသံုးအႏႈန္းကို အရာတစ္ခုခုသည္ စံနမူနာယူေလာက္ေအာင္ ေကာင္းတယ္လိုံ႔ ထင္တဲ့အခါမွာ သံုးပါတယ္။)

 

  • Now that's what I call a good cup of tea.
    (ကဲ။ ဒါမ်ိဳးမွ လက္ဖက္ရည္ေကာင္းတစ္ခြက္ လို႔ေခၚတာ။)
  • That's what I call a fine portrait.
    (ဒါမ်ိဳးမွ ပံုတူ ပန္းခ်ီကားေကာင္းတစ္ခ်ပ္ လို႔ေခၚတာ။)

 

Get cracking (ျမန္ျမန္လုပ္)


You say get cracking in an informal context when you mean that there is a need for hurry or speed:

(ျမန္ျမန္လုပ္ (get cracking) ကို ရင္းႏွီးတဲ့အေျခအေနမွာ အေလာတႀကီးေဆာင္ရြက္ဖို႔ လိုအပ္တဲ့အခါ အရွိန္ၿမွင္႔တင္ၿပီး ေဆာင္ရြက္ဖို႔ လိုအပ္တဲ့အခါ ေျပာပါတယ္။)

 

  • Get cracking! That work has to be finished today!
    (ျမန္ျမန္လုပ္! ဒီအလုပ္က ဒီေန႔ျပီးမွျဖစ္မွာ။)
  • We should get cracking. The last bus leaves in half-an-hour.
    (ငါတုိ႔ ျမန္ျမန္လုပ္ မွပဲ။ ေနာက္ဆံုး ဘတ္(စ)ကားက ေနာက္နာရီ၀က္ေနရင္ ထြက္ေတာ့မွာ။)

 

You've got to hand it to (…ကို အသိအမွတ္ေတာ့ ျပဳရမယ္။)


You say you've got to hand it to someone when you mean that someone is very successful or skilful in some way and deserves to be praised:

(… ကို အသိအမွတ္ေတာ့ ျပဳရမယ္ (you’ve got to hand it to) ဆိုတဲ့အသံုးအႏႈန္းကို တစ္စံုတစ္ေယာက္က နည္းလမ္းတစ္ခုခုနဲ႕ ေအာင္ျမင္သြားတဲ့အတြက္ (သို႔) ကြ်မ္းက်င္သြားတဲ့အတြက္ ခ်ီးက်ဴးသင့္တဲ့အခါတြင္ သံုးပါတယ္။)

 

  • Meg's not very popular in the firm, but you've got to hand it to her. She's a very good salesperson.
    (မက္(ဂ) (Meg) ကို အလုပ္ထဲမွာေတာ့ လူေတြက သိပ္သေဘာ မက်ၾကေပမယ့္ သူမကိုအသိအမွတ္ေတာ့ျပဳရမယ္။ သူမက အလြန္ေတာ္တဲ့ အေရာင္းစာေရးမပဲ။)
  • You've got to hand it to Bob. He's not one of the brightest students, but he worked very hard and passed all his exams.
    (ေဘာ့(ဘ) (Bob) ကိုအသိအမွတ္ေတာ့ျပဳရမယ္။ သူဟာ အေတာ္ဆံုးေက်ာင္းသားေတြထဲက တစ္ေယာက္ေတာ့ မဟုတ္ေပမယ့္ သူက အရမ္းၾကိဳးစားျပီး စာေမးပြဲအားလံုးကို ေအာင္သြားတယ္။)

 

Never mind! (ကိစၥမရွိပါဘူး။ ေနပါေစ)


You say never mind! to someone to tell them that something is not important and does not matter:
(ကိစၥမရွိပါဘူး / ေနပါေစ (never mind!) ကို လူတစ္ဦးတစ္ေယာက္အား အေၾကာင္းအရာတစ္ခုခုသည္ အေရးမၾကီးေၾကာင္း ေနလို႔ရေၾကာင္းေျပာလိုတဲ့အခါတြင္ သံုးပါတယ္။)

 

  • 'I'm going to be a bit late for the meeting.'
    (ငါအစည္းအေ၀းကို နည္းနည္းေနာက္က်မယ္။)

    'Never mind!
    The important business is at the end.'
    (ကိစၥမရွိဘူး။ အေရးၾကီးတဲ့ ကိစၥက ေနာက္ဆံုးမွပါ။)
  • 'I'm sorry. I've spilt some wine on the tablecloth.'
    (ေတာင္းပန္ပါတယ္။ စားပြဲခင္းေပၚကို ၀ုိင္ နည္းနည္းေပသြားတယ္။)

    'Never mind!
    The stain will wash out.'
    (ကိစၥမရွိပါဘူး။ အစြန္းက ေလ်ာ္လိုက္ရင္ ေပ်ာက္သြားပါလိမ့္မယ္။)

 

Get a move on (ျမန္ျမန္လုပ္)

 

You say get a move on in an informal context when you mean that there is a need for hurry or speed:

(ျမန္ျမန္လုပ္ (get a move on) ကို ရင္းႏွီးတဲ့ အေျခအေနမွာ အေလာတႀကီးေဆာင္ရြက္ဖို႔လိုတဲ့အခါ (သို႔) အရွိန္ျမွင့္တင္ၿပီးေဆာင္ရြက္ဖို႔လိုတဲ့အခါမွာ အသံုးျပဳပါတယ္။)

 

  • Get a move on! You're going to be late for school.
    (ျမန္ျမန္လုပ္! မင္းေက်ာင္းေနာက္က်ေတာ့မယ္။)
  • We must get a move on or we'll be late for dinner.
    (ငါတို႔ ျမန္ျမန္လုပ္မွျဖစ္မယ္။  မဟုတ္ရင္ ညစာစားဖို႔အတြက္ ေနာက္က်ၾကလိမ့္မယ္။
