1. Be on time.
  2. Dress the part. Look like you already work there.
  3. Smile occasionally (not that look from The Shintng). Aim for am awake, alert, pleasant, open appearance.
  4. Keep it conversational. Do not sound rehearsed.
  5. Keep your purpose in mind. What are your main points? What can you do for this organization?
  6. Accentuate the positive. Put negative aspects in the best light.
  7. Give details. Quantifly (Size of your staff? Expense reductions? Sales increase?).
  8. Do not give monologs. Ideal answers are from 30 seconds to two minutes. Interviews should be 50 – 50 conversations.
  9. Ask for the job. State your desire to work for the organizartion and be spectific as to why you are a perfect match for the position.

10. Follow up. Send a thank- you letter for the time and consideration or make a telephone call after every interview.
