Job Title:                                            Village Facilitators

Location:                                             Myebon Township, Rakhine State          

Report to:                                           Township Coordinator

Starting Date:                                    Immediately

 

The two village facilitators report to the RI township coordinator for Myebon under the supervision of the programme manager and supports the planning and implementation of a range of activities in the respective local communities and authorities in Myebon town. Support for improved livelihood opportunities will be a central activity of this project.

Specific duties

  • Conduct regular field visits to village ward;
  • Establish and maintain close working relations with community representatives, community groups, town officials, and other humanitarian/development organizations;
  • Mobilize and facilitate the setup and work of community groups at village and village tract levels that should take the lead on the identification, planning and implementation of development activities;
  • Delivery of couching and training to community groups;
  • Provide support for livelihoods activities, including entrepreneurship training and vocational training
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data on project activities and conduct data entry on collected data in a timely manner and assist in maintaining the database of beneficiary information and activity profiles;
  • Attend township, town and ward level coordination meetings.

Deliverables

  • Leading meeting/consultations and village hall meetings
  • Organising trainings and other events
  • Field monitoring reports and post training reports
  • Minutes of meetings held
  • Other reports as requested by the township coordinator

Qualifications and minimum requirements

  • University degree (BA/Bsc);
  • 2-3 years’ relevant work experience in the field of community development or related field is preferred;
  • Strong understanding of the local context in Myebon;
  • Experience in implementing livelihoods activities;
  • Prepared to work with different minority communities;
  • Excellent communication skills (comfortable with public speaking)
  • Good analytical and computer skills (especially word and excel);
  • Fluent in Rakhine and working knowledge of English.
