General Description of the Role


Under   the   direct   supervision   of   Health   Program   Manager,   the   Field   Coordinator  takes   overall responsibilities to ensure the development and implementation of the Coordinated Township Health Plan (CTHP) and mobile clinic activities in Myebon township through good coordination and collaboration with relevant regional and township stakeholders including from the Township Health Department, other implementing agencies and community-based organisations. The Field Coordinator will also work to improve the community's ability to detect and support the mental health and psychosocial needs of the IDP camp residents and residents of hard to reach communities in Myebon community.


Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct coordination and advocacy meetings with township health department personnel and concerned authorities within the township
  • Work closely with basic Health Staff, community-based organizations, and other  stakeholder groups for the development and implementation of CTHP.
  • Work closely with mobile clinic teams to ensure adequate provision of primary health care to vulnerable populations
  • Provide overall supervision, monitoring and management of RI project field team members (20 staff) to ensure the intended results and outcome
  • Provide support for the meetings, trainings and workshops to be held within the township as necessary.


  • Supervise field team members to ensure appropriate supply chain management for the delivery of medicines and equipment supplies to the health facilitie
  • Support in establishing and operationalizing proper referral pathway for the emergency patients, mental health, psychosocial, mental health and GBV cases
  • Provide leadership support as necessary to conduct baseline assessments and situational analysis at the township and community leve
  • Compile and  submit  regular  progress  reports  (including  monitoring  data)  to  Rakhine  Health Project Coordinator on time.
  • Together with  M&E  officer,  provide  support  in  the  design  and  implementation  of  regular monitoring plan, the collection of case studies, and focus group discussion
  • Attend external  meetings  if/when  assigned  to  represent  RI  and  maintain  partnership  with implementing partne
  • Take on other tasks as required by the project or as advised by superviso
  • Training and capacity building on mental health and psychosocial support.
  • Oversee case management and follow-up of mental health, psychosocal support, and GBV. Coordinate with protection team on these issues.
  • Ensure staff training on protection principals.
  • Maintain protection framework of operations within IDP camp
  • Coordinate closely with other protection/GBV agencies to ensure best practices are followed and efforts not duplicated
  • Manage Health Assistant to ensure confidentiality of case files and sensitive information

  • Manage health team to ensure appropriate treatment, referral, and follow-up for mental health and psychosocial issues Provide support to team to manage overall psychosocial support, GBV, and health activities in Myebon



Person Specification

  • MBBS Degree
  • At least 2 to 3 years in public Health area working with INGO / LNGO/ UN
  • Proven experience in coordination with local authorities, health staff and commun
  • Proven program management & coordination skills
  • Research knowledge and experience
  • Experience in MS Word, Excel, Power point
  • Willingness to make frequent field trips to the remote are
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and working environment
  • Knowledge of conflict sensitivity and “Do No Harm” approach
  • Comprehensible communication skills, both written and spoken, in both Myanmar and English
  • Prior working experience in Rakhine desirable
