Job Title:

Gender Based Violence Prevention Assistant

Specific Responsibilities

  • Support design and oversight of all activities in Women and Girls’ Centres (WGC)
  • Design, prepare, facilitate, and conduct GBV trainings and awareness session under the support and guidance of GBV Prevention and Response Officer
  • Facilitate GBV awareness sessions for women and girls and man and boys in close cooperation with incentive workers
  • Guide WGC volunteers and case workers in GBV prevention and response activities such as monthly safety audits, referrals
  • Train WGC volunteers and case workers in awareness raising and facilitation skills
  • Ensure compliance with protection and GBV guiding principles in all activities
  • Closely supervise and manage camp-based incentive workers and volunteers
  • Support the timely delivery of program activities (for example, monitoring against log frames and work plans)
  • Coordinate with Protection, Health, WASH and Camp Management/Community Outreach Officer to ensure smooth referral pathway for GBV survivors
  • Report all GBV and protection related issues to supervisor, prepare and submit weekly and monthly work plans and reports
  • Other tasks as requested by supervisor

 

 

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of Protection Standards and GBV Guiding Principles
  • Experience of community facilitation and volunteer training
  • Ability to communicate clearly and to motivate and influence others
  • Commitment to working on behalf of women and girls
  • Self-motivated and willingness to learn
  • Previous experience working in INGOs, LNGO is preferable
  • Flexible, respectful and empathetic attitude
  • Self-motivated and willingness to learn
  • Able to work under little supervision to complete tasks with timely manner
  • Willing to work for marginalized population in a multicultural context
