Specific Responsibilities

  • Support GBV and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Outreach Activities (MHPSS) of the SRH services specifically:
    • Act as the GBV focal point for the health team
    • Support GBV & MHPSS awareness sessions in close cooperation with the health educators and health team.
    • Support awareness-raising of gender-based violence among community members.
    • Lead the organization of GBV and MHPSS thematic days celebration in the communities.
    • Setting up referral pathway and coordinate referrals within sectors and response partners.
    • Guide health team in GBV prevention and response activities
    • Carrying out the coordination of the referral between actors and follow-up of the GBV cases identified during the SRH activities
    • Training health staff to ensure compliance with protection and GBV guiding principles as well as MHPSS principles
    • Ensure that GBV Protection policies and standards are understood and met and ensures a safe space atmosphere in the health spaces relevant to GBV activities.
    • Promote GBV guiding principles throughout all health activities; ensure that the voices of women and girls are represented.

 

  • Support the timely delivery of program activities (for example, monitoring against log frames and work plans)
  • Represent Relief International health team at relevant sector meetings/trainings as requested
  • Support in health or protection related assessments
  • Report all GBV and MHPSS related issues to supervisor, prepare and submit weekly and monthly work plans and reports as requested.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor degree in Social Work, Human Rights or other relevant field preferable
  • Knowledge of Protection Standards and GBV Guiding Principles
  • Experience of community facilitation and volunteer training
  • Ability to communicate clearly and to motivate and influence others
  • Commitment to working on behalf of women and girls
  • Self-motivated and willingness to learn
  • Previous experience working in INGOs, LNGO is preferable
  • Flexible, respectful and empathetic attitude
  • Self-motivated and willingness to learn
  • Able to work under little supervision to complete tasks with timely manner
  • Willing to work for marginalized population in a multicultural context
  • Good command in English and Burmese essential, Rakhine knowledge preferable
