Job Advertisement for Child Development Officer


Plan International is an international child and youth development organization dedicated to promote the realization of children and young people’s rights, especially girl’s rights, in both development and humanitarian settings. Plan International in Myanmar is supporting a broad spectrum of initiatives designed to support integrated child development and youth empowerment outcomes that are strategically aligned with the national government’s priorities. Sectors of focus include: Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), Education in Emergencies, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Child Protection, Adolescent Development, Youth Economic Empowerment, Youth-Led Peace Building and Social Cohesion, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Prevention among young people.

Job Purpose:

Produce sponsorship products and coordinate with Child Development Coordinator, Officer, Assistant and NOs to sponsorship systems and products are delivered with good quality and timely manner in accordance with sponsorship book. As an international child-center development organization, the Sponsorship Secretary will commit to the wellbeing of children and support the Convention of the Rights of the Child.


  • Produces and coordinates all SC and sponsors communication items up to caseloads annually.
  • Coordinate with CDOs, CDAs, NOs , CDC, CDM to ensure concerned NOIs and sponsor information are timely responded and accurate.
  • Facilitate, produce and translate all SC/SP sponsorship communications to ensure its good quality and timeliness process.
  • Operate and maintain sponsorship system to ensure that it properly works and safety data.
  • Manage National Office Inquiries (NOI) received and promptly respond to all NOIs according to category (Normal, Special and Urgent) with development education to satisfy the NOs/sponsors.
  • Manage and maintain Building Relations filing system including Sponsored Children electronic files to ensure all SC data are regular and accurately updated and secured to comply with the Sponsorship Book.
  • Ensure that sponsorship child protection policy and standard are applied for SC/Sp data disposal, photography and screening for child protection risk of communications
  • Support and train all CDOs and CDAs on production of sponsorship communications to ensure the sponsorship products are produced in compliance with sponsorship book.
  • Contribute and share inputs on sponsorship and Child Data operation as end user of lesson learnt and good practice to BRC for further sharing to CDM in developing and revising global policy and system functioning.
  • Manage and Maintain Child Data system and SC files system to ensure all children data are regular and accurately updated and secured to comply with safe into the locker.
  • Manage and receive in out child communication letter from CDOs and send to CO in time. 




Qualifications, Skills & Experience


University degree in related field. Good knowledge in computer software

Good knowledge in English speaking and writing. Knowledge of child and human rights. Knowledge in community development. Ability to coordinate with people at different levels. Ability to develop work plan working with children in different conditions and behavior. Communication and relationship skill .At least 2 years working experience in community development and other related fields. Experience in working with sponsors and sponsor child. Initiative, commitment, self-motivation and an ability to work independently and in a team
