Location: Yangon, Myanmar, with potential travel to Naypyidaw or other areas of the country if needed.
The Organization: The Centre for Economic and Social Development (CESD) is an independent think tank focusing on beneficial research and programs for sustainable policy solutions to further Myanmar’s development. The centre undertakes research and other program initiatives on critical economic and social issues. CESD is one of three centers under the Myanmar Development Resource Institute (MDRI).
MDRI-CESD was designated by the Myanmar President Office Notification 99/2012 as the National Coordinator for Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) implementation process in Myanmar. The EITI is a global coalition of governments, companies and civil society working together to improve openness and accountable management of revenues from natural resources. In Myanmar, the MEITI team is currently supporting a Multi-stakeholder group that is preparing Myanmar's submission for EITI Report and implementation process. This historic process aims to bring greater transparency and accountability to the extractive industry sector in Myanmar.
