Job Advertisement for Community Development Coordinator

 

Plan International is an international child and youth development organization dedicated to promote the realization of children and young people’s rights, especially girl’s rights, in both development and humanitarian settings. Plan International in Myanmar is supporting a broad spectrum of initiatives designed to support integrated child development and youth empowerment outcomes that are strategically aligned with the national government’s priorities. Sectors of focus include: Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), Education in Emergencies, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Child Protection, Adolescent Development, Youth Economic Empowerment, Youth-Led Peace Building and Social Cohesion, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Prevention among young people.

Job Purpose:.

The Community Development Coordinator (CDC) will coordinate all aspects of community development work in his/her assigned villages/village tracts. S/he will ensure that all development activities and sponsorship deliverables are completed as scheduled in accordance with sponsorship program quality standards. Development programs may include Early Childhood Care and Development, Health and Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, SRHR, Child Rights and Child Protection, Youth Economic Empowerment and Mobile Clinic etc,.Moreover, he/she will lead conduct to capacity building training and workshop for the community volunteers, village development committee members and child group members.Contribute to development of work plans, program reports, and case studies

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders including Village Tract leaders, VDCs, CBOs, CVs, and children to produce Master List (A/B), What Is Plan (WIP) and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) exercises in his/her assigned village are conducted, documented and shared with relevant stakeholders for information and references. Report directly to the Deputy Programme Unit Manager
  • Coordinate Child Sponsorship program activities, Youth Economic Empowerment project activities, Child Protection project activities and other development project activities in assigned villages such as community mobilization, recruitment process for third party associates, training, mentoring and placement
  • Support integration of project activities in target areas and ensure quality implementation as assigned
  • Manage directly sponsored children between 300 and 400, lead organizing and collection for SCU/SCI and other communication letters as a partial contribution and participating
  • Supervise to the Child Sponsorship Program Implementation of Community Development Officer
  • Facilitate and support all development projects in assigned areas and ensure quality implementation
  • Coordinate with children, parents, local authorities, VDCs , Volunteers, CBOs and Plan’s partner NGOs on a regular basis
  • Monitor and Support for the field trip project activities implementation together with CDOs and Other Project Focal Persons
  • Lead conduct training and workshop for the strengthening of capacity building for Volunteers , VDCs and Children Group Members
  • Assist and Support to the Line Manager for the Government Influencing activities on the village level, township level and district level
  • Regular check in with both CDOs and Line Manager
  • To support and strengthen for the staff capacity building initiated activities and staff’s performance management system
  • To create and develop to the M&E format for the supporting of beneficiaries list, target and achieve data and information
  • To organize the success and case stories for the program activity implementation, for both quality and quantity achievement based approach by the solidity evidence based documentation system
  • Regular check in with both CDOs and Line Manager at least two times for every month
  • Build for good communication and good relationship among child development staffs , other project focal persons , operation staffs ,communities and government department
  • Support and Facilitate to the IEC materials developing
  • Promote and encourage for the safeguarding children and young people policy awareness in every training , workshop and meeting for the staffs, communities and third party associate person

Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Citizen of Myanmar •Graduate level education background Good knowledge in computer software, including Microsoft programmes. Good in English speaking and writing. Strong knowledge of community development and governance .Strong knowledge of children and adult learning methods and training. At least three years working experience in community development field and deal directly with community and local authorities. Experiences in managing development projects at the community .Experiences in sponsorship work is prefer. Experience working with children advantageous. Good Coordination and Leadership skills .Good Communication and negotiation skill. Good Development and Problem solving skill
