Job Advertisement for ECCD Project Officer

(Early childhood care and development and enterprise development)

 

Plan International is an international child and youth development organization dedicated to promote the realization of children and young people’s rights, especially girl’s rights, in both development and humanitarian settings. Plan International in Myanmar is supporting a broad spectrum of initiatives designed to support integrated child development and youth empowerment outcomes that are strategically aligned with the national government’s priorities. Sectors of focus include: Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), Education in Emergencies, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Child Protection, Adolescent Development, Youth Economic Empowerment, Youth-Led Peace Building and Social Cohesion, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Prevention among young people.

Location                       : Yangon

No. of position              : Two posts

Assignment type           : One year contract with possible renewal

Job Background: Plan Myanmar’s Social Enterprise programme supports social enterprise to create jobs for disadvantaged group, empowering women and young people, and addressing social exclusion across the region. The program; ECCD-centered social enterprise support disaster-affected communities, for greater impact and sustainability. We will provide social entrepreneurs (young people and women) with skills training, business mentoring and access to funding opportunities to help them enhance the beneficial impact they deliver by producing low cost, high quality toys.

 

Job Purpose:  Assist the Manager/ focal person in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation process • Provide arrangements for meetings, workshop or training and facilitated the training as required • Develop the IEC materials according to the program needed • Design and develop learning materials and toys to stimulate the critical thinking of the child • Play a supporting role for program implementation and administrative tasks • Coordinate with other departments when/as needed • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Entry Qualifications, Skill & Experience: University degree in a relevant field • Understanding of development projects in Myanmar • Minimum two years of hands-on experience in Early Childhood Program • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) database • Excellent in Graphic design is preferable • Communicates clearly and effectively • Proactive and flexible, able to work under conflicting requirements and deadlines • Proactive and flexible, able to work under conflicting requirements and deadlines • Able to work independently, take initiative, to prioritize and to plan • Ability to travel in the rural area
