Job Advertisement for ECCD Project Officer


Plan International is an international child and youth development organization dedicated to promote the realization of children and young people’s rights, especially girl’s rights, in both development and humanitarian settings. Plan International in Myanmar is supporting a broad spectrum of initiatives designed to support integrated child development and youth empowerment outcomes that are strategically aligned with the national government’s priorities. Sectors of focus include: Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), Education in Emergencies, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Child Protection, Adolescent Development, Youth Economic Empowerment, Youth-Led Peace Building and Social Cohesion, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Prevention among young people.

Job background:


Plan International Myanmar is implementing at ECCD project in Nyaung U  Township, Mandalay. The ECCD Officer will provide technical support to ECCD Project Assistants and conduct regular monitoring in the project area.The project will focus on improving parenting practice to support holistic child development and organizing age appropriate playgroup activities and ECCD center construction. This position is based full-time in Nyaung U Township with extensive field travel.


Job purpose:


The ECCD Project Officer will have a key role in identifying and selecting communities for the establishment of the project • Facilitate local level awareness raising campaigns on ECCD and Parenting Education activities in targeted area • Liaison with the local authorities and concerned Government departments regarding project activities • Develop detailed implementation schedule at the field level together with PU ECCD Manager •  Ensure that the programme takes steps to counter discrimination against gender equality in program operation. Represent Plan Myanmar in various forums and coordination meetings at township level • Activity progress reporting to the PU ECCD Manager • Ensure reporting and programme implementation meet donor requirements and are timely and of quality, Integrated


Qualifications, Skills & Experience:


Citizen of Myanmar • Bachelor degree • Minimum Three years of demonstrated relevant experience • knowledge of ECCD and parenting education concepts • Extensive experience assessing, building capacity, monitoring and cooperating with local NGOs • Good knowledge of community development in Myanmar • Experience in implementing partnership approach projects • Track record of participation, training, facilitation and awareness raising • Experience of working with children and communities is an advantage • Strong team-building and facilitation skills • Excellent communication skills • Proficient in computer skills.
