Job Advertisement for Finance Coordinator (Nyaung U- Mandalay Program Unit)


Plan International is an International Humanitarian, Child Center Development Organization, implementing development programs that promote the realization and fulfillment of children’s rights and the alleviation of child poverty. Mandalay Region is seeking Finance Coordinator (1) Post the position is based in Nyaung U Township, Mandalay Region.


Report to:                                          Programme Unit Manager

Number of Position:                         1

Assignment Type:                             Three month probation and one year contract with possible renewal

Job Purpose:


The Finance Coordinator is based in the Program Unit Offices to provide support in the development programs.  He /she is accountable for the day to day operation related to a defined finance to ensure smooth programming of the Mandalay program Unit office and any action needed is taken in timely manner




  • Provide full support to project staff in the process of creating a budget proposal.
  • Ensure all financial transaction are all align to the SAP requirements.
  • Responsible in the implementation of the costs recovery process in the PU level.
  • Ensure a monthly overhead and salary tracker to avoid over/underspending of project budgets.
  • Managing and securing of cash including the replenishment form the Country office. Ensure it is keep in safe and secured at all times. 
  • Responsible for Bank and cash reconciliation on monthly and weekly respectively and submit to Program Unit Manager for review and approval.
  • Maintains and monitor bank balances on regular basis.
  • Provides financial management information including reports to Project Managers and providing advice in ensuring financial procedures and systems are followed.
  • Verify and ensure all payment requests have the necessary documentation and approvals before processing the payment.
  • Maintain and update financial record and monthly Budget vs Actuals for each project. This also include forecast on quarterly basis. Close coordination with CO for support and technical guidance.
  • Ensure funds transfer is managed and record accurately and transparently.
  • Responsible for timely cash disbursement of project expenses.
  • Assist in the planning, organization and execution of the statutory requirements and audit process for the office in coordination with the Country Finance.
  • Provide continuous supports to implementing partners in order to make sure all the systems and procedures are in line with the donor requirement and Plan standard requirements.
  • Regular checks of the financial reports and practices of partners and provide timely supports if needed.
  • Prepare a consolidated financial monthly report and sent to Program Unit Manager for approval before sending to Country Office.
  • To participate effectively in team meetings
  • Provide on the job training or technical related trainings on finance to the partners.
  • Provides necessary support to the project manager/PUM.
  • Provide support by undertaking any other additional functions as delegated by the project manager


Qualifications, Skills & Experience:


Citizen of Myanmar • Good English language skills, both oral and written. Excellent Computer Skills including Microsoft Office .Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting /Bookkeeping   preferable with INGO .Knowledge and understanding operating context. Ability to maintain high level of accuracy in preparing financial reports. Strong Communication skills, able to adapt according to the needs .Able to maintain confidentiality Graduate level education background Good Communication and negotiation skill. Good Development and Problem solving skill.
