DanChurchAid (DCA) is seeking to recruit a qualified and enthusiastic person to fill the position of Finance Officer (FO) working as a member of finance team.



DCA is an international development and humanitarian organisation working in more than 20 countries. DCA aims at strengthening local civil society organisations that work with community development, democracy, food security, mine action and humanitarian response. You will be part of a international organisation and will have close links with DCA HQ in Copenhagen and the DCA regional offices in South and South East Asia. As a finance officer you will be part of a dynamic team in Myanmar office composed of local and expatriate staff.


Summary of Position:

Quality assurance, reporting, and capacity building in programme and project budgets, financial management and reporting. Reporting to Finance and Administration Coordinator based in DCA’s Myanmar office.



Main tasks and responsibilities:

Programme Finances

  • Contribute to the preparation of the programme budgets and reports
  • Work closely with support of DCA Finance and Administration coordinator (FAC) in preparation of programme finance report and its audit process.


Project and Partner Finances

  • Ensure quality of Partner Budgets, Budget Overviews, and timely transfers to projects implemented by these partners
  • Contribute to the preparation of partner project documents with Programme Officers.
  • Providing support and financial control of selected partners financial reports  following DCA guidelines (reconciliations, audits, checklist, budget revision etc.)
  • Responsible for audit processes for selected projects and partners.
  • Assessment of partner’s administrative and financial management capacity.
  • Provide financial and administrative capacity building to DCA partners  and staff
  • Prepare training materials for financial management trainings
  • Conduct regular financial monitoring visits of projects implemented by DCA’s partners




Minimum specifications:

  • Myanmar national.
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration or another relevant subject. Lesser qualifications in financial management plus extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree.
  • 5 years of experience working within an international NGO or private company with progressive levels of responsibility.
  • Competence in financial monitoring and reporting.
  • Proven organisational ability.
  • Demonstrated time organisational skills.
  • Ability to work in team proactively and with initiative.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexible, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Good working knowledge of English (verbal and written).
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and Word.


The benefit package for the position includes competitive remuneration (the salary range is 821,000 – 1,272,600 Kyats/monthly), annual bonus, severance pay, 1.25 days per month for annual leave, 15 official holidays per year, personal accident/medical insurance, learning and development opportunities and a challenging and stimulating working environment.
