Vacancy: Grant Officer (MyJustice Programme, British Council)

Salary : Pay band H (from $924 per month)

MyJustice is funded by the European Union and implemented by the British Council and has two specific objectives:
1. To improve access to both formal and informal justice systems especially for vulnerable groups in up to 6 regions/states in Myanmar;
2. To improve the functioning of institutions which support the Rule of Law in Myanmar

Working mostly at community & grassroots level, MyJustice places emphasis on a people-centred approach, which is designed to encourage learning, trust and collaboration among and between all stakeholders. We will work in close consultation with communities to promote enhanced and equitable justice provision for all groups, especially those currently most excluded.

As the Grant Officer, you will deliver and coordinate local activity under the EU-funded MyJustice Programme in Myanmar. The Grant Officer will responsible for implementing complex granting processes which comply with British Council and EU policies and requirements. You will also be responsible for monitoring, reconciliation and reporting against the contract budget of grant recipient organisations and will support MyJustice activities with guidance from the Grant Manager in compliance with both EU and British Council standards. This will include field office set up and management.

Suitable candidates for this post will need proven experience of project level financial accounting for donor agency such as European Union and/or other agency; administration of partners and sub-contractors in delivering programme objectives and activities and contract and procurement administration. You will also have provided support to audit management and have managed budgets of grantees.
