Plan International is an international child and youth development organization dedicated to promote the realization of children and young people’s rights, especially girl’s rights, in both development and humanitarian settings. Plan International in Myanmar is supporting a broad spectrum of initiatives designed to support integrated child development and youth empowerment outcomes that are strategically aligned with the national government’s priorities. Sectors of focus include: Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Child Protection, Education, Adolescent Development, Youth Economic Empowerment, Youth-Led Peace Building and Social Cohesion, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Prevention among young people.

Assignment Type:                             4 or 5 Months contract with possible extension

Job background:

The Humanitarian Project coordinator (HPC) will lead direct implementation of quality activities. Manage field travel planning and quality implementation, cooperate with Local partner organization and township level stakeholders to achieve the project objective. The PC is the main engine of effective and timely implementation at the field level. To coordinate all field activities ensuring the work plan is coherent: all activities and movement plan are efficient and effective in achieving timely completion of activities. The HPC is the focal contact point for partner relationship building and management.

Job purpose:

This position is responsible for guiding and support of HPOs in field implementation under the supervision of Humanitarian Project manager. The position is responsible to develop the strategic approach to engaging with communities in order to undertake the project activities and to adapt the project activities to the community context. The role will be responsible for addressing community feedback and adapting the project accordingly in response to this feedback for the purposes of project improvement. It is essential this person is able to collect information from HPO and analyse it for the HPM and country office. The role must interact and liaise with partners and other NGO actors in the area of operation. The role must represent Plan International to Township level government on a regular basis. The role should be familiar with humanitarian principles and child protection principles and experience in distributions or nutrition behavior change communication programming.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:


  • 3 Years’ experience working for not for profit organization in a sector relevant (Child Protection, Nutrition, WASH, Food Security, Cash and Distributions)
  • Any university graduate
  • Demonstrated community mobilization skills or behaviour change communication activities.
  • Basic technical understanding of international standards pertinent to nutrition in emergencies or WASH in emergencies or food security in emergencies.
  • Able to communicate in Myanmar Language and communicable English


  • Speak local language or dialect (Kachin, Myitkyina)
  • Experience with INGO, ideally in a similar technical field
  • Understanding of Child protection principles and child safeguarding policies
  • Experience with complaints and feedback mechanisms
  • Experience with INGO in similar technical field.
  • Strong Team building and facilitation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and proficient in computer skills
