Job Advertisement for Humanitarian Project Manager (CAAC)
Plan International is an international child and youth development organization dedicated to promote the realization of children and young people’s rights, especially girl’s rights, in both development and humanitarian settings. Plan International in Myanmar is supporting a broad spectrum of initiatives designed to support integrated child development and youth empowerment outcomes that are strategically aligned with the national government’s priorities. Sectors of focus include: Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Child Protection, Education, Adolescent Development, Youth Economic Empowerment, Youth-Led Peace Building and Social Cohesion, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Prevention among young people.
Position: Humanitarian Project Manager (CAAC)
Accountable to: Deputy Humanitarian Program Unit Manager
Location: Mrauk U, Rakhine State
Assignment Type: Six months contract with possible extension

Job background: The Humanitarian Project Manager will lead and manage Education and Youth Empowerment project activities. He/she will play a large role in community-based integrated Education and Youth Empowerment project intervention to fill identified gaps in line with the community needed. Other aspects of the role include partnership management, planning, M&E, representation and liaison. The project will most likely focus on building local capacity and creating strong communities ownership. This position is based full-time in Mrauk U Township with 30% field travel to the targeted areas.
Job purpose: The Humanitarian project manager will be expected, with consistent support from Deputy Humanitarian Program Unit Manager, to lead on implementation of Education and Youth Empowerment project, coordination with stakeholders and project team management at the Program Unit (field) level. In addition, she/he will oversee the monitoring of child protection activities and ensure information is available and organized to assist with donor reporting. The PM will also be expected to play a leadership role within the project team by supporting and building the capacity of officers and assistants through on the job training in the field.
