Job Advertisement for Nutrition Project Officer

 

Plan International is an international child and youth development organization dedicated to promote the realization of children and young people’s rights, especially girl’s rights, in both development and humanitarian settings. Plan International in Myanmar is supporting a broad spectrum of initiatives designed to support integrated child development and youth empowerment outcomes that are strategically aligned with the national government’s priorities. Sectors of focus include: Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), Education in Emergencies, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Child Protection, Adolescent Development, Youth Economic Empowerment, Youth-Led Peace Building and Social Cohesion, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Prevention among young people.

Accountable to                      : Nutrition Coordinator

Location                                 : Nyaung U Program Unit                      

Contract                                 : One year contract with possibility for extension

Job Purpose:

 

The projects will be implemented through local partners with Nutrition Project coordinator overseeing and supporting the project with the help of Nutrition Officers. Key aspects of the role include training, monitoring, supportive supervision and follow up. This position is based full-time in the field with extensive field travel. The Post holder will be reporting to the Nutrition Project Coordinator and supervise the quality delivery of projects in the Nutrition field. The post holder will directly support local partner and basic health staff in the area and provide technical support for project implementation. The post holder will be working closely with implementing partners to ensure timely coordination and implementation, practical skill building, monitoring and technical support. The post holder will also be responsible for documenting lessons learned, disseminate and apply recommendations. The post holder will inform Nutrition Project Coordinator of any potential internal and external risks that may compromise the quality of programmes and help mitigate them.

 

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor of midwifery or nursing
  • Experience in training and practical skill building
  • Worked as a midwife or nurse in maternity wards/homes preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in the Health and Nutrition sector
  • Understanding of community development
  • Strong knowledge in planning and monitoring activities
  • Understanding of participatory methodologies
  • Understanding of local civil society development
