Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)

General Corporate Services

  • Oversee supply of drinking water 
  • Manage postal couriers, waste collection and their payment 
  • Assist with office moves and change requests 
  • Organising sale of surplus furniture and office accessories 
  • Dealing with general requests and issues daily


Import/Export

  • Prepare paper work for clearing commercial cargos 
  • Import and export of unaccompanied air freight, heavy baggage, car of UKB staff 
  • Liaise with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, agents and Pickford’s officers 
  • Prepare notes for departure of UK staff and return Dip ID cards


Visa/Stay Permit

  • Oversee visa and stay permit applications for UK Staff and spouses, Dip ID and driving License applications 
  • Assist with visa and stay permit applications for non-resident LE staff


Cars

  • Prepare paperwork for vehicle import, export, sale, purchase and disposals 
  • Transfer of ownership and renewal of car registration 
  • Updating official and personal vehicle list 
  • Liaise with MFA, agents, Pickford’s officers


Others

  • Prism requisitioner, receiver 
  • Setup new suppliers, P2P related matters 
  • Procurement of various office supplies, furniture and cleaning materials, stock, issue and top up stationery 
  • Imprest holder for USD 
  • Line Managing one Office Support Coordinator, Receptionist and three cleaners 
  • Ensure smooth running of the Embassy’s reception 
  • Oversee daily cleaning of Embassy building and surroundings 
  • Oversee deep cleaning during and after projects 
  • Act as back-up IT Support Officer


Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor degree 
  • Fluency in English and Burmese, both oral and written, with good communication skills 
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • Good organisational and time management skills with an ability to work on own initiative 
  • Flexible, resilient under pressure and decisive with a proven track record of delivering results to a high standard within tight deadlines


Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience of similar role in an Embassy, UN or INGO

Type of Position
Fixed Term, Full Time


Hours of Work
Standard part-time working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.


Salary
Salary is at USD 1,032 per month.


Other Benefits and Conditions of Employment

The British Embassy Rangoon offers a competitive remuneration package, including salary, benefits, leave entitlement of 22 days per annum (calculated in pro rata). This is being advertised as a full time, fixed term position for one (1) year, with possible extension.
