British Council Myanmar currently operates through two main offices in Yangon and Mandalay and two project offices in Yangon.
We employ approximately 180 staff, including project staff, teachers and trainers. We operate as the Cultural Section of the British Embassy and our main Yangon office is co-located with the Embassy.

As Society Programmes Coordinator you will support the wide variety of programmes and projects which we run in the Society field, including access to justice, civil society, social enterprise and women’s empowerment.
In this permanent job you will be focused on supporting project management, delivering our work programmes as well as building relationships with stakeholders across the civil society sector. You will design and implement projects, working in partnership with other international agencies, and ensure that projects are delivered successfully, within budget and on-time.
You will also be involved in supporting the organisation of British Council events, preparing contracts and managing data, improving stakeholder relationships and monitoring project budgets to ensure fair and strong financial management.
Suitable applicants for this job will need to demonstrate at least 3-5 years of project management experience with an INGO, or an international development agency. Extensive experience working with civil society organisations in Myanmar is required, as are local language skills.
