Job Advertisement for SRHR Project Manager (CSE)

Plan International in Myanmar is supporting a broad spectrum of initiatives designed to support integrated child development and youth empowerment outcomes that are strategically aligned with the national government’s priorities. Sectors of focus include: Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Child Protection, Education, Adolescent Development, Youth Economic Empowerment, Youth-Led Peace Building and Social Cohesion, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Prevention among young people. 

 

Position                                  :SRHR Project Manager (CSE)

Report to                               :Deputy SRHR Program Manager

Location                                :Myawaddy Township, Karen State

Assignment Type                  :from start joining date to 31st December 2020 (with possible extension)

Travel Percentage                 :50%

 

Job Background: The SRHR Project Manager will manage the UNFPA HER (Development of Comprehensive Sexuality Education curriculum for out of school youth) project in Myawaddy township under guidance of Deputy SRHR Program Manager(Myawaddy)/ Health and Nutrition Program Manager and technical insights from SRHR Specialist (CSE). S/he will play a key role in ensuring that the development of CSE curriculum is well planned, evidence based, monitored and evaluated. S/he will also develop the capabilities of Plan staff and partners to support the achievement of SRHR program goals. The SRHR Project Manager will play a leadership role in implementing Country Office’s SRHR strategy ensuring gender transformative programing approaches and leading national advocacy and influencing efforts. Other aspects of the role include, partnership building, donor relation, project management including budget oversight, new business development, coordination and representation. The position is based in Myawaddy and with minimum 50 % travel to the project area and yangon.

 

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Development of detailed implementation plan
  • Roll out of the project in cooperation with project and partner staff
  • Quality program delivery, implementation and management oversight
  • Annual planning
  • Monitoring and evaluation of programme activities
  • Production of quality reports and publications
  • Partnership management and capacity strengthening
  • Facilitate learning and knowledge management
  • External representation and national influencing
  • New business development  

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Ability to speak Myanmar Language fluently
  • Bachelor’s degree in health related subjects and preferably a master’s degree in Public Health or other development related subjects

 

  • Minimum five years of demonstrated professional experience managing similar projects in SRHR and gender
  • Proven track record delivering high quality health projects
  • Experience working with children and young people necessary
  • Extensive experience in assessing, building capacity, monitoring and cooperating with local NGOs/ partners
  • Good knowledge of community development in Myanmar
  • Track record of participation, training, facilitation and awareness raising
  • Excellent English language skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Integrity and excellent interpersonal skills including communication, facilitation and team building skills
