We are looking for a Professional Development Unit Trainer for its contract work in Rangoon.
As the PDU operates 7 days a week, the post holder may have one of a number of weekend patterns (currently Sat/Sun, Sun/Mon). It may occasionally be necessary to work weekend days which would be claimed back as TOIL. All trainers can expect to occasionally work in Nay Pyi Taw or other remote locations for temporary periods due to operational requirements. A typical day as a PDU trainer can involve an early morning class with board-level corporate staff, followed by a group of local NGO staff who need to interact with multinational donors, to a group of embassy drivers.
The number of teaching hours per week may vary throughout the year according to client demands and operational factors, up to a maximum of 24 hours. During periods of fewer contract hours, the post-holder may be asked to assist with placement testing, teaching centre substitution and cover and materials development. At the time of writing, trainers are mostly working split shifts with additional travel time factored into the total working hours per week (37.5). Annual leave is flexible, to be taken in agreement with the Business Development Manager.
Enquiries about the post can be sent to the East Asia Regional Teacher Recruitment team based in Singapore.
