We are looking for a Senior Grant Officer role based in Yangon to deliver and coordinate local activity under the EU-funded MyJustice Programme in Myanmar. In this exciting role as the Senior Grant Officer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex granting processes which comply with British Council and EU policies and requirements. You will also be accountable for supporting the programme team in designing and carrying out capacity building activities which directly and indirectly build the financial management capacity of the organisations which receive grants. In addition, you will support MyJustice activities with guidance from the Finance team and Programme Manager in compliance with both EU and British Council standards. This will include field office set up and management. You will also be tasked to prepare accurate expenditure forecasts and reports for client and internal reporting in agreed formats and prepare for audits with external and internal auditors.
With this opportunity, you will get a chance to design the granting process, problem solve and use adaptive strategy while working with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will hone your technical knowledge in supporting partners’ financial management capacity and learn about the programme’s approach to Access to Justice.
To be considered a successful candidate, you must bring along project-level financial accounting for donor agency such as the European Union and/or other agency have successfully operated in large development projects and experience of administration of partners and sub-contractors in delivering programme objectives and activities. You should also have experience in contract and procurement administration and have provided support for audit management. Candidates with experience in managing governance/CSO project and/or managing EU funded projects and grants will be preferred. Candidates must have excellent English communication skills and be Degree qualified.
