The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an international humanitarian organization founded in Denmark in 1956. DRC implements relief and development activities in more than 30 countries throughout the world, assisting more than 1.5 million people of different ethnicities and religions. DRC has been operating in Myanmar since May 2009 and is a dynamic organization with more than 230 staff. Recently DRC Myanmar has expanded its support activities in Kachin State, Kayah State and Rakhine state. DRC Myanmar is funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), the European Commission (ECHO), UN Fund and UN Agencies, including UNHCR, UNOPS and UNICEF.

To support DRC’s activities in Myanmar, DRC is looking for a highly motivated and experienced:

Warehouse Storekeeper (1-post/ Sittwe)


Duty Station                       : Sittwe Office

Report to                             : Logistics and Procurement Coordinator

Direct Report to               : Logistics Officer


Position Description

As part of Logistics Team,The Warehouse Store Keeper will support the warehouse assistant with the management of the DRC Sittwe stock supply and overall management of the warehouse, directly reporting to the logistic officer.


Job Responsibilities

  • To receive, store and dispatch, upon request, all items and goods mentioned for DRC Sittwe operation.
  • Audit trail: support DRC warehouse to keep a record of all items, logistics documents, and information.
  • As and when required support DRC plan, organize and maintain any stores/ warehouses containing DRC stock, to DRC Logistics Operational standards, providing.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and controls at all time.
  • To plan and monitor truck loading/ unloading and to prepare all necessary documentation for shipments.
  • To support and help with distribution plans, loading plans.
  • To organize local labour to effect the timely and efficient reception and dispatch of goods within the warehouse.
  • To ensure the warehouse is kept clean and item are safely stored and stacked.
  • To perform other duties as may be assigned by logistic officer and warehouse assistant.


 Qualifications and minimum requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Professional qualification in logistics or equivalent an asset.
  • Other Logistics certifications is a plus.
  • Two years’ experience in Logistics Operations.
  • At least 1 year working in warehouse.
  • Experience working with an INGO will be more considered an asset.
  • Fluency in Burmese and working knowledge of English. Additional local languages would be an asset.



  • Starting date of employment: as soon as possible
  • Contract: Regular DRC staff contract, including a probation period of 3 months; with possible extension, pending funding.
  • Salary: Competitive salary according to DRC Myanmar salary scale. The Position is based at grade D within DRC's salary scale and salary level is based on the experience and capacity of the candidate.
